Airplanes started arriving for the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport hosted Aviation Day on March 7, 2014. A variety of military aircraft stopped by the airport for gas-n-go.

It was built in January 1992. It was initially rgistered as N13627. It was delivered to Transweded as SE-DLU on March 6, 1992. It was leased to Airtours on May 7, 1995. It was transferred to Blue Scandanavia by December 1995. Eurofly operated it as EI-CNR beginning on April 12, 1997. Luxor Air registered it as SU-BMF on September 13, 2002. AFT Trust registred it as N531LS on May 20, 2005. Air Efata registered it as PK-FED on May 5, 2006. AWMS registered is as N531LS on December 22, 2006. Meridiana registered it as EI-CNR on July 8, 2007. AFT Trust registered is as N307MS on July 13, 2011. Dutch Antilles Express operated it as N307FA beginning on March 8, 2013 but went out of business in August 2013.

International Air Response Lockheed C-130A N119TG was delivered to the US Air Force as RC-130A-55-LM 57-0520. Hemet Valley Flying Service registered it as N138FF in 1998. It is powered by four Allison T-56A-7 turbo-prop engines.
Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress N9323Z Sentimental Journey carries its original Army Air Force serial number, 44-83514. Its construction number is 32155. It was retired from the Air Force at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on January 27,1959. Acme Aircraft Parts of Compton, California registered it as N9323Z on July 31, 1959. Western Air Industries of Anderson, California acquired it in November 1960 and converted it to a fire tanker. It flew as tanker #E17. Aero Union Corp of Chico, California bought it on June 6, 1962 and flew it first as tanker #C17 and then as tanker #17. It was restored to stock military configuration as USAAF 44-83514 Class of 44 in 1977 by the Confederate Air Force. Soon after it was renamed Sentimental Journey. It is currently registered to the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum of Midland, Texas. It is operated by the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.
Allegiant Airbus A319-111 N301NV made its first flight as D-AVYL on October 21, 2004. It was delivered to Easyjet as G-EZEX on November 4, 2004. It was transferred to Easyjet Switzerland on June 15, 2005. Allegiant Air leased it on Junauary 11, 2013.
Daylight Nightlight EZ Flight Pilatus PC12/45 N552TC was built in 2012. Its construction number is 443. It is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67 turboprop engine.

The former Williams Air Force Base is now known as Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. In addition to serving as a civil airport, it is frequently visited by military aircraft taking advantage of its limited traffic. Several pilot training schools operate at the airport. Allegiant Air provides passenger service to airports around the country on a fleet of McDonnell Douglas MD-83s. An air tanker base occasionally hosts fire fighting tankers. Boeing has a test facility for hot weather tests and Advanced Training Systems Incorporated refurbushes Douglas A-4 Skyhawks.
